Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association®

We are an Association of Combat Veterans from all branches of the United States Armed Forces who ride motorcycles as a hobby. As a registered 501(c)(19) veterans’ charity, our mission is to support and protect those who have defended our country and our freedoms. Our focus is to provide assistance and help to individual veterans, veteran care facilities, other veteran organizations and registered charities. We sponsor and participate in many veteran-related motorcycle (and other) charity events each year, and as a non-profit organization, donate to various veteran causes.

Our membership is comprised of Full Members (those with verified combat service), Supporter Members (those who have non-combat military service and have a strong dedication to helping veterans), and Auxiliary Members (Spouses of both Full and Support members). We have members from all 50 states and numerous countries abroad, including combat areas.

Please note that we are an ASSOCIATION and NOT a MOTORCYCLE CLUB (MC). Although we may be in a geographic area, we do not claim territory. We do not have a club house. We do not wear cuts or colors, but rather vests. The patch on our back is one piece.

What Can Riders Do to Avoid Accidents

 "Proper Motorcycle Tire Pressure Matters"

Riding a motorcycle with low tire pressure can cause several safety risks: Decreased

handling and riding precision, Poor fuel economy, Poor braking performance, Excess heat,

Uneven tire wear, Reduced traction, Compromised handling, and Decreased stability. Here

are 7 Critical Signs Of Low Tire Pressure In Motorcycles:

1. Consistent Hard Revving Of The Engine - If the tire pressure is significantly low the engine must do

more work to overcome the same amount of friction as compared to the appropriate tire pressure.

2. Lower acceleration And Torque While Riding Or Launch - Traction has a huge role in motorcycle acceleration. A firm

grip of the tire’s surface on the road at a higher speed during cornering or even a slight turning of the handlebar is

crucial.

3. Lower Mileage per Gallon - When the engine rpm is higher, the heat generated by the engine is increased; therefore,

the efficiency of the vehicle is reduced which results in lower mileage per gallon.

4. Motorcycle Not Stopping In The Straight Line While Braking - If the vehicle does not have adequate tire pressure, the

motorcycle won’t stop in a straight line. The velocity cannot be carried continuously in a forward direction if the tire

is not stiff enough.

5. Difficulty In Maneuvering The Motorcycle - When the motorcycle has low tire pressure, it feels heavy because of the

high traction produced between the wheel and the road.

6. Motorcycle Fishtails While Going At Moderate To High Speeds Or Cornering - The back tire breaks away or skids from

side to side because of losing traction.

7. Tank Slapper Caused By Lack Of Stiffness In The Tire – The Handlebar moving violently from side to side, causing the

motorcycle to lose its balance can become a very common incident if the tire pressure is low.
